My family’s contribution to the USA

My family moved here from Australia two years ago. It is just my mum, my brother, my dad, and I. We have many different words for things and we have a very different accent. The Australians brought vegemite, lamingtons, and pavlova to the US and of course our famous meat pies. We brought Crocodile Hunter and our good old Aussie sayings. “Fair dinkum” and G’day mate!” We also made up many slang words for things like “cossie” which means swimsuit. We have many good old Australian songs like “Tie me kangaroo down” and “Waltzing Matilda.” The Aboriginies are the native people of Australia and they contributed a lot to Aussie art. The art we brought from Australia is full of patterns of colourful paint. We are truly unique and my family and I contributed a lot to the USA.
